Privacy policy
How Seat & Signal™ handles personal information across this website, discovery-call booking, and The Signal newsletter — and the confidentiality rules at the center of how we operate.
Last updated: August 10, 2026
Information we collect
This website itself collects nothing directly — it sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising trackers. We receive personal information only when you choose to provide it:
- Booking a discovery call — the information you submit through Google Calendar's booking page: first and last name, email, phone number, previous role, state of residence, and whether you're booking about a search or membership. We use it to prepare for the call and, where relevant, to meet state-level requirements that apply to placement services.
- Subscribing to The Signal — your email address, plus standard engagement data (opens, clicks) processed by beehiiv, our newsletter platform.
- Emailing us — whatever you choose to send.
- Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes standard server logs — IP addresses and request data — to serve and secure the site.
How we use your information
- Preparing for and holding the calls you book
- Providing our matching and placement services
- Sending The Signal to people who subscribed to it — and no one else
- Responding to your questions and requests
We don't run advertising, sell promotions against your data, or profile visitors.
Calls and meetings
Discovery calls and meetings held on Google Meet are recorded and transcribed by default, including AI-generated notes (Google's Gemini), so we can stay present in the conversation and follow up accurately. You'll see this in the calendar invitation, and Meet displays an on-screen notice and announcement when recording is active. Recordings and transcripts are used only to prepare summaries, follow-ups, and our services; they're processed by Google under its terms, stored privately, and never shared or published. If you'd prefer not to be recorded, say so at the start of the call — we'll switch it off and take the old-fashioned kind of notes. You may request deletion of any recording at any time.
How we keep track of our relationships
We maintain business records in a customer-relationship system (Attio), which stores the contact details, call notes, and engagement history described above, and syncs with our email and calendar to log correspondence and meetings automatically. These records exist to serve you well across a relationship — remembering context so you don't repeat yourself — and are accessible only to Seat & Signal™. Deletion requests cover these records too.
Events
Registration for our events (such as The Builder's Room) runs on Luma, which processes the name, email, payment details, and application answers you submit there under its own privacy terms. Application answers are used to curate the room, prepare introductions, and shape the evening's discussion topics — and are treated as confidential. Where an event is photographed or recorded, that's announced in advance and at the event, and opt-outs are honored. Declined applicants are never charged, and their information isn't used for anything beyond the application decision.
Confidentiality for executives and clients
Member information is never shared with a client until the member approves the specific introduction. Engagement details are treated as confidential, and any benchmark or market data we compile is used only in anonymized, aggregated form. Detailed data practices for members and clients are set out in the agreements governing those relationships.
Data security
We use reputable providers (Cloudflare, Google, beehiiv) that employ industry-standard security measures, and we limit what we collect in the first place — the least-collected data is the best-protected data. That said, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
Third-party disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or transfer your personal information to third parties. Information is shared only with the service providers that operate the functions you use — Google (booking, meetings, email), beehiiv (newsletter), Luma (event registration), Cloudflare (hosting), Attio (our customer-relationship system), and Slack (our internal workspace) — each under its own privacy terms, or where required by law. Slack is internal-only: we may reference business relationships in our own workspace to run the company, but no member or client confidential material is shared beyond Seat & Signal™. Links to LinkedIn, X, and other external sites are governed by those platforms' practices once you leave this site.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own. Third-party services you choose to use from here — the booking page, the newsletter platform — may set their own under their own policies.
Your choices
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of information we hold about you at any time. Unsubscribing from The Signal is one click in any issue. Executives and members: members@seatandsignal.com. Everyone else: hello@seatandsignal.com.
